Treatment & prevention of gingivitis & in the maintenance of oral hygiene, particularly in conditions where brushing teeth cannot be adequately employed (eg, following oral surgery or in physically handicapped patients). Promotes gingival healing following periodontal surgery, & manages recurrent oral ulceration. Treatment of denture stomatitis & thrush.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Rinse the mouth thoroughly w/ 10 mL for 1 min as required up to bd. Treatment of gingivitis 1 mth course of treatment. Denture stomatitis Cleanse & soak the denture in soln for 15 min bd. Aphthous ulceration & oral candidal infections Continue treatment for 48 hr after clinical resolution.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Avoid contact w/ the eyes & ears. Macrogol glycerol hydroxystearate (excipient) may cause skin reactions. Pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Transient disturbances of taste sensation & a burning sensation of the tongue (on initial use).
